We were welcomed in the States with Dűvő and Erika Juhász
We have got a life experience in United States in a cultural camp named ’Titi-Tábor’ organized by our friend living in Seattle. The summer camp was organized in a wonderful Raft Island, which is encompassed by bays of the see. The environment was forest and groves where stags graze near humans. In the houses of the camp the invited guests realized the teaching process; on the verandas the instrumental rehearsals, in the community hall (eating house at the same time) folk dance presentations.
There was a group of 7 participants to present the Hungarian folk dance culture. The folk group Dűvő (Dénes Hrúz, Szabolcs Hrúz, Zsolt Nagy, Albert Mohácsy) taught kalotaszegi songs on violin, viola, contrabass and recorder, and Erika Juhász folk singer taught the songs to the participants. Beáta Gaschler and Norbert Kovács were the choreographers , they taught Hungarian and Rumanian dances.
The numbers of participants were up to hundred. Surprisingly only few of them have got Hungarian origins. Mainly youth, persons of older ages and families from United States, Canada took part on programs. They have given priority to this cultural event so they even have sacrificed their short summer holiday for it.
Thanks for friendly welcome and nice experience!
